Spring WeddingsWedding Season has started and it can be difficult to find that perfect dress. Deciding what to wear to a wedding isn't always an easy task. Dress Code for a Wedding? Wedding guest attire guidelines can be tricky. Its a sign of respect for the couple and the event to get dressed up for a wedding and your attire should always be respective and appropriate . But keep in mind, the rules of etiquette were designed to help one feel more at ease and comfortable in all social situations. A chic cocktail dress or a long evening gown is usually suggested. Before 4:00 pm In general, daytime weddings are more casual and so lighter fabrics and less formal attire is the rule. After 4:00 Pm I find in the cause of evening weddings, the more formal style, longer dresses and cocktail dresses are appropriate for women. You want to also choose something that fits in with your own personal style as well the requested dress code. Cocktail attire does allow you to have some fun with your look but it is one of the more formal wedding dress codes. Cocktail attire is about creating a a look and keeping it classy. Cocktail length means a knee length or longer that hits above the ankles. Daytime Wedding If both the wedding ceremony and receptions will start and end before 5:00 it's a daytime wedding. Morning and early afternoon wedding are usually more casual. In general, lighter colours and more causal style and fabrics like florals, and chiffons will work. But this doesn't mean that its Ok to wear sneakers and flip flops. |
It's the season for office parties, Christmas get togethers and New Years.
If you find that you question yourself on what to wear to a holiday party, my advise is to consider the destination. My rule is to go on the dressy side, but this is who I am. I find getting dressed up makes the holidays feel more special. To dress well for the holidays you don't have to spend allot of money. I bet your wardrobe already contains some excellent basic pieces that can be put together with some targeted purchases. I love mixing different textures like velvet, sequins, silks, leather or lace.
