Let's transition into Spring and Summer
Elevated Neutrals for Spring
The sun is finally out and it's time to wear all those cute spring outfits. Wearing elevated neutral outfits are my favourites . I tend to gravitate towards neutral basics as they won't date and are easy to incorporate into your wardrobe.
So let's Chat about stripes, there is something about this classic, modern pattern that works no matter what the season is. OTs versatile, stylish and timeless.
Vertical stripes are my favourite as it makes your eyes move up and down therefor they elongate your body. So many women tell me that can't wear stripes and I disagree. Rule of thumb when is comes to stripes; smaller narrow stripes are fabulous if you have curves. Smaller stripes will compliment any figure.
Stripes on the upper half of your body will help balance your frame, its best to stick to vertical stripes when it comes to pants, skirts can be horizontal.
Thick stripes will broaden your shoulders while thin vertically stripes on the bottom will thin out your hips.
There is a natural symmetry to stripes since on colour bar separates the eye into two sections.

Adding an Edge to Timeless Style
Let get ready for Spring, I am that person who has a limited palette of colours in my wardrobe, my New Years resolution is to broaden my colour horizons for 2023. I would say for more than 10 years now, my wardrobe has barely any colour beyond a few statement pieces. But most of these shades are so muted, that I would actually consider them more neutrals. Over the years, after many closet edits I ended up curating my day-to-day pieces into almost an all black wardrobe. At the time wearing all black felt like a very easy way to feel stylish, sophisticated and safe. So when I did branch out, and I did add a few neutral pieces like grey's, beiges and navy into my wardrobe. I am now feeling the urge to push my own style boundaries and try wearing some some colour. To do this I must branch out of my comfort zone.
My favourite colours this year are the Olive green and the peach pink. These are so easy to style and will blend in easily into any wardrobe.
These pieces are all from Mynx Boutique.

A perfect wardrobe is versatile, mixable and practical. This my friends will take time.
I think the pandemic has changed how we shop. It's less about being on trend and more about feeling put together, modern and current. I am talking about "strategic purchasing". This means purchasing higher quality pieces that we can afford and that we will wear regularly .
I recently did a closet audit to identify which pieces I will need to purchase this spring to add to my existing wardrobe. This is a way to help you transform your shopping habits to be more intentional. In the quest for a perfect versatile wardrobe the most common danger is impulse buying and not knowing what your have in your wardrobe to work with. The end result will be purchasing items you will never wear and buyers guilt.
So When you go shopping start with a plan.
1. What are you looking for?
2. Have a vision and don't settle until you find what your looking for.
3. Be Strategic.

Summer Denim
Summer time and this often means lighter clothes, sandals and comfortable denim dresses.
Jeans aren't exactly what you think of when you're dressing for hot and sticky summer days. Denim dresses are a definite must have for your wardrobe and are usually made from a softer fabric than jeans and are a perfect choice for those hot days. They're lightweight and very comfortable to do everything from errands to lunch with friends. This is one style that I rely on in my wardrobe |
A simple denim dress is one of the most versatile pieces in your summer wardrobe. You can style them with a cute sandal or go for the comfort in a sneaker. Denim dresses go great with a surprising number of shoe styles. You can create casual looks that range from urban to country.

Monochromatic Dressing
Monochromatic dressing is a very easy way to look fabulous, it simply means dressing in a single colour.
In fashion terms: Monochromatic dressing means wearing separates of one colour that have different textures and/or similar shades of that colour for an overall tonal look. This is a cleaner approach to putting an outfit together. When it comes to style solutions, this ladies will check every box. It's low effort, fashion forward and playful. And my friends it's the easiest way to elevate your look, a monochromatic outfit takes the guesswork out of getting dressed. Monochromatic is still going strong. The key to creating a monochromatic ensemble is to combine shades and hues of the same colour. Plus neutral colours such as beige, tans, creams and off whites are so easy to style. |
Wearing multiple layers of varied textures of one colour will add depth and dimension to an outfit. This will also allow you to highlight or downplay certain parts of your body. An example of this is that if you have long legs and tend to carry your weight above the waist consider white skinny jeans with a white blouse and a long white cardigan: this will draw attention to a lean lower body. Another trick is to bring the focus towards your face and you can achieve this by working your way up with lighter, brighter variations of one colour story.
When you dress monochromatically your outfit has one interrupted line from head to toe, this will elongate your silhouette making you appear slimmer and taller that you actually are.

The change of the seasons is a time for reinvention, whether its your style, attitude of self-acceptance. Fashion is constantly changing and it can be hard to keep up with what to wear on a daily basis. We need to take a lesson from the fashion industry as it reinvents its self every six months. |
Age has nothing to do with style. Great style is possible no matter what age you are. The key is understanding what works for your body type. Everyone should be timeless, chic and sophisticated.

Shoes are the finishing touch for your outfit. The latent Shoe trend is the Cinderella Shoes. These shoes have been sold out everywhere and are the epitome of wearing art on your feet. Honestly this screams every women's Cinderella Fantasy. Last year we were sitting in our homes in loungewear. It didn't seem likely that we would ever dress up and ditch our slippers for heels again. If you haven't heard of @machandmach yet, let me fill you in. The womenswear and accessory brand Mach & Mach was started in Tbilisi Georgia in 2012 by two sisters, Nina and Gvantsa Macharashvili.
